DutchSA Barossa Gin & Wine Tour

Beautiful weather, a full bus and program with great venues. This was the DutchSA on Tour 2018 to the Barossa Valley.
Our stops were at the brand new Seppeltsfield Road Distillers, where Jon and Nicole Durdin had 4 excellent gin varieties ready for our tasting. This was an appropriate start, not just because Seppeltsfield Road Distillers has already won its first prestigious award before opening their wonderful venue at Seppeltfield Road, but also because gin is a derivative form good old Dutch Jenever*. After a quick lunch we went on to the organic wines of Hart of The Barossa. Michael Hart explained about sustainable farming practices and gave us a tasting of the authentic produce from their truly organic vineyard. Our final stop was at Smallfry Wines, where Wayne Ahrens served his beautiful Certified Organic / Biodynamic wines, accompanied by a luxurious tasting platter with superior local produce from the Barossa Valley. Some more photo’s from the Barossa 2018 tour can be found on our Facebook public page: Facebook Photos. Enjoy!
We thank Des Minibus for driving us around safely!
*) Jenever (Dutch: [jəˈneːʋər] (), English: / dʒ ə ˈ n iː v ər /), also known as genièvre, genever, peket, or in the English-speaking world as Dutch gin or Hollands (archaic: Holland gin or Geneva gin), is the juniper-flavored national and traditional liquor of the Netherlands and Belgium, from which gin evolved.
