We are very happy to introduce Guido Tielman as the new Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Sydney!
Guido recently arrived in Sydney with his wife and son, and has hit the ground running.
Guido has over 30 years of diplomatic experience, having worked in Beijing, Skopje, Brussels and a few stints at HQ in The Hague where he predominantly worked on European Union issues. Since 2013, Guido has served as Consul General in Chongqing and in Mumbai and, most recently, as Representative at the Netherlands Office Taipei (2020–2025).
“It’s a tremendous privilege for my family and me to have been posted to Sydney as the next step in our international journey together”, Guido says.
“Since my arrival, my colleagues of the Dutch economic network here in Australia have thrown me in at the deep end by lining up a series of excellent events and activities that have taken me around Sydney and to Canberra and Brisbane.
I see so many opportunities for our two counties to strengthen our economic partnership even further: the energy to do so is palpable. I look forward to working on this together with both our Australian and Dutch networks.”
